Carpal Tunnel

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a painful disorder of the wrist and hand.

The carpal tunnel refers to the tunnel on the inside of the wrist that the median nerve, tendons, blood vessels and other structures pass through. If these get swollen the median nerve gets compressed and you can get tingling, pain and even numbness to part to the hand. This is not to be confused with trapped nerves from the neck that can also give similar systems.

Causes are usually by people who perform repetitive pinching/gripping with the wrist bent (extended). People at risk involve workers on computers, check outs, assembly lines, violinists, mechanics, gardeners, golfers, needle workers to name a few.

Treatment early can nearly always resolve the problem. This involves identifying the cause, reducing the swelling and strain, stretches of the troublesome structures and tunnel. Our experts will facilitate you through this process.
